REAL ESTATE BROKER PROGRAM
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Arizona School of Real Estate and Business, a division of Educational Systems, Ltd., Inc. is located at 7142 E. First Street, Scottsdale, Arizona, and has been in real estate education since 1969. The school has grown to be one of the most respected private educational institutions in the country. A unique teaching format, coupled with a select group of instructors and administrators, has given the school its deserved reputation along with a consistently higher state exam passing rate year after year.
The broker licensing program is a comprehensive 90 hour program specializing in Real Estate Law, Finance and Appraising. The class format involves outside reading, classroom lectures, frequent quizzes and school final exams. A school review of all material will be held once a month.
You will find our courses to be professional in their approach and challenging in their content. The following pages will explain the procedures necessary to obtain a real estate brokers license.
Sincerely,
William R. Gray

STEPS TO OBTAINING A
REAL ESTATE BROKER LICENSE
I. Have three of the last five years experience as an active real estate salesperson or broker. (this experience may be from any state).
II. Have your past employing brokers complete form LI-226, Verification of Employing Broker. All documents must be submitted as originals to the Arizona Department of Real Estate (ADRE). The Department will not accept fax copies or photocopied signatures. It is also important that all questions on the broker verification form be answered. These forms are handled at the ADRE on a first come, first served basis by the date received stamped upon arrival at the Department. If a form is received without all requested information it will be returned to you for completion and once returned will receive a new date received.
III. Submit form LI-226 to the Arizona Department of Real Estate, Broker Qualifications, 2910 N. 44th Street, Suite 100, Phoenix, AZ 85018.
Note: If you are using experience from another state, you must submit a
history of licensure from that state(s) in which your license was held for three of the last five years.
Candidates with only Arizona experience will automatically receive a License
History when submitting the employment verification form to the ADRE.
There is no need to call the Department for Arizona license histories.
IV. The real estate department will return form LI-226 to you with a verification "valid through" date. This date is the period of time you have to complete the entire process and obtain a brokers license. The ADRE usually completes and returns these forms within two weeks.
V. Complete a 90-hour broker course made up of twenty-four classes. Real Estate Law (class L1 through L12) and Real Estate Finance (class F1 through F12) and pass an examination on each course. Please review our broker schedules regarding course times and dates.
VI. Upon completion of the course the student will be required to pass a school law and finance examination ranging from 150 to 200 questions. A 75 percent passing score is required on each one of these exams.
VII. Upon completion of the school exams the student will receive a Candidate Guide indicating the education requirements are completed.
VIII. Once you have received your Candidate Guide, call the Prometric testing center to make a reservation to take the state examination at 1-800-899-4091 Monday through Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) or register online. You will be asked to give the date on the bottom of form LI-226. Examinations are offered Tuesday through Saturday in Phoenix, Tempe, Flagstaff and Tucson, and in other cities in the U.S. The examination fee is $115. Locations of the Arizona testing locations can be found on the Prometric, website .
IX. Prior to applying for your broker license you must attend a Broker Management Clinic. Please refer to the broker management clinic schedule for dates on which you may attend this $30 class after completion of your school exams. Note this class can be used for three hours of Commissioner's Standards credit for your next renewal.
X. A new set of fingerprints are required when applying for your license.
Here is a schedule showing
when you can have them taken at the school. The cost for fingerprints is $10.00
and you will pay our independent contractor directly. This is a service provided
for your convenience.
XI. Please note the ADRE does not retain any documents related to the process of obtaining your brokers license. If you loose your documents you will have to begin the process over again, as the test administrator cannot allow you to test without reviewing the original documents.
